to the girl at
Alyvia's school
who stared,

loudly whispered
to her friends,
 
"She walks funny,"

& imitated the
way I walk.

I am the one who is hurt,

who is brought to tears,

who has endured the stares,
the comments,
the whispers,

for years,

over 24.

She is the child
who I pray
never has to
go through
what I've gone through.

I will show her the same
