Words To Live By

March 22, 2011
"This one thing I do:
Forgetting what lies behind & straining forward to what lies ahead.
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 3:13B-14

If well thou hast begun, go on;
it is the end that crowns us,
not the fight.

~Robert Herrick~

I'm not saying that I have this all together,
that I have it made.
But I am well on my way,
reaching out for Christ,
who has so wondrously reached out for me.
Friends, don't get me wrong:
By no means do I consider myself an expert in all of this,
but I've got my eye on the goal where God is beckoning us onward ~
to Jesus.
I'm off & running,
& I'm not turning back.

Phillipians 3:12 - 14

Bullying (Excerpts from my Presentation)

March 11, 2011

"I asked to come speak to you today because what I went through was a form of bullying.  Bullying can be physical abuse, where you're pushed or shoved, or tripped, or hit, & it can be emotional abuse, where you're called names, made fun of, or gossiped about, like what I went through.  Both kinds hurt, & can leave scars."

"I've overcome a lot in my life.  I'm not a vegetable, like the doctors first predicted.  Jesus gave me back a sound mind, & I'm able to think clearly.  Although the doctors ...

More Than Words

March 11, 2011

Truth,

Righteousness,

Peace,

Faith,

&

Salvation

are more than words.

Learn how to apply them.
You'll need them throughout your life.

God's Word is an indispensable weapon.

In the same way,
prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare.

Pray
Hard
And
  Long
.

A New Commandment

March 11, 2011
"I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another." John 13:34

What does love look like?
It has hands to help others.
It has feet to hasten to the poor & needy.
It has eyes to see misery & want.
It has the ears to hear sighs & sorrows.
That is what love looks like.
~St Augustine

It Starts At Home

February 15, 2011
"Forget about deciding what's right for each other.  Here's what you need to be concerned about:
That you don't get in the way of someone else, making life more difficult than it already is.
I'm convinced ~ Jesus convinced me! ~ that everything as it is in itself is holy.  We, of course, by the way we treat it or talk about it, can contaminate it."
Romans 14:13-14

Today I ask for forgiveness for the unloving thoughts & feelings I've been having lately about the unfairness of this world.

How,

1 Corinthians 13:4,7-8

Love...
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
Love never dies.

Love Is

February 15, 2011
"Love is patient;
Love is kind;
Love is not envious
                           or boastful
                                          or arrogant
                                                         or rude.

It does not insist on its own way;
It is not irritable or resentful;
It does not rejoice in wrongdoing,
                                               but rejoices in the truth.

It bears all things,
Believes all things,
Hopes all things,
Endures all things
."

1 Corinthians 13:4-7...

The Cross

February 7, 2011
"For my part, I am going to boast about nothing but the Cross of our Master, Jesus Christ.  Because of that Cross, I have been crucified in relation to the world, set free from the stifling atmosphere of pleasing others & fitting into the little patterns they dictate.  Can't you see the central issue in all this?  It is not what you & I do...it is what God is doing, & He is creating something totally new, a free life!"  Galatians 6:14 - 15

Good to know,
Especially for those who feel,
For one r...

Just Wondering

February 6, 2011
If I had died
In my accident,
Instead of merely suffering from
A traumatic,
Near-fatal,
Life-changing,
Life-altering
Injury,
One that left me in a
Coma
For
2
Months,
After hitting my head
On both the car
And on the ground,
Resulting in a
Double
Head
Injury,
Changing me
From a smart,
Pretty,
Popular,
Teenage girl,
Who was on Pom-pom,
Who had lots of friends,
Who was excited about starting high school
With all of my friends from junior high,
Into a 15 year old
BABY,
Who couldn't do
Anything by myself,
And had to learn h...
