I'm sitting at my booth at Vintage Vogue on Saturday when a cute, little elderly woman walks up. She looks at my book display, & starts reading my newspaper articles. I smile brightly at her & say "Hello," to which she looks at me, smiles & says, "I voted for you." Thinking I've misunderstood, I say, "Excuse me?" She repeats the words, "I voted for you," to which I say, "I'm sorry, ma'am, but I believe you have me confused with someone else." With a surprised & disappointed look on her face, she says, "You mean, you're not Sarah Palin?" I tell her no, to which she says, "Well, you sure look like her. You have the same hair & high cheekbones!"
I'm not sure whether to consider this comparison a compliment or not. Sarah Palin is definitely beautiful, which would be a good thing, but I also believe her to be quite self-serving, which would be a bad thing! ;D
